Ms. Cornelius has been an educator for 22 years, 9 in the Denison ISD, where she taught Government Classes at Denison High School.  Ms. Cornelius and her family were moving to another District, but Billie Mosse Lodge wanted to recognize her for her contributions over the years.

Ms. Cornelius family was on hand, as were a number of members of the Lodge and their spouses, to see her receive the award.

Upon receiving the Award Ms. Cornelius remarked; “I am extremely honored and humbled to have been chosen to receive this prestigious award.”   She went on to say; “I try to treat each student as I would my own child,” Cornelius said. “I want each student to know that I care about them personally. I think that allows a great relationship to form between me and my students.”

The Lodge’s Education Committee selects the recipient(s) for the award each year.  Worshipful Master, Bob Rhoden, who also serves on the Denison Independent School District Board of Trustees said; “We’ve got a lot of outstanding educators in this are, but every once in a while one stands out and above — that was Patti Cornelius.”

The members of Billie Mosse Lodge offered their best wishes for continued success to Ms. Cornelius.
